Turkey has blocked Twitter and YouTube


Turkish authorities have decided to lock in the country access to the micro blogging service Twitter and video hosting YouTube. Note providers about blocking was granted the prosecutor's office.

This decision was made due to the fact that these services have been posted photos of Turkish prosecutor taken last week hostage by militants.

It is expected that local providers completely block the access to Twitter and YouTube in the near future.

Initially, the Turkish authorities were planning to block access to the social network Facebook, but later abandoned this step, as representatives of the social network quickly removed the controversial pictures. Total for their publication in the country were blocked by more than 150 sites.

Many Turkish Internet users have already reported in social networks that they have difficulties with access to these sites.

Hostage-taking
