The US Tsunami Warning Center in the Pacific warns about the threat of a tsunami within a thousand kilometers from the epicenter of the massive earthquake in Chile.

"As a precaution, we are announcing the evacuation of coastal areas of Bio-Bio, Araucania, Los Rios, Aisen," - said in a statement rescuers. Residents of the district of Los Lagos urged to remain in secure locations and to avoid beaches.
