At least 37 dead in double bombing in Beirut suburb


At least 37 people were killed and 105 injured Thursday in a double suicide attack in a Hezbollah stronghold in south Beirut, said the Lebanese Red Cross and the police.


"The provisional toll is 23 dead and at least 105 wounded," had said in a previous report to media an official of the Red Cross. According to police, two men on foot detonated their explosive belts in front of a shopping center in the al-Hussinian street, neighborhood Bourj al-Barajne.

The double attack took place at around 18 am.

A media photographer saw bloodied bodies in pulverized shops and pools of blood in the middle of destroyed cars, while hundreds of people were nearby places.

"We have dozens of injuries and they continue to happen," told to reporter, a doctor at the Bahman Hospital in the neighboring district of Haret Hreik. more breaking news
