Legendary football player Johan Cruyff died in Barcelona


Dutch football player, a three-time winner of the "Golden Ball" Johan Cruyff, died in Barcelona at the age of 68 years, according to the official website of the athlete.

According to the report, Cruyff, who was considered one of the best players of the XX century, died surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

Cruyff was born in 1947. His football career he started in the youth team of Amsterdam "Ajax". Since 1964, the striker started to play for the first team and in the following years eight times won her national championship three times - Cup.

In 1973, Cruyff joined the Spanish "Barcelona". In five years at the club he won a Spanish Cup and one Spanish Cup, and then moved to the US and spent several seasons in the local teams. At the end of his career Cruyff returned to the "Ajax".

After finishing his playing career, Cruyff went to coaching and actually repeated the distance covered as a player: the first club who coached Cruyff became again "Ajax", and the second - "Barcelona" again. With the last he won four championships, the national cup, several Super Bowls and the UEFA Champions League from 1988 to 1996.
