A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.7, the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean triggered a tsunami alert on Thursday.
A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred 70km off Solomon Islands at 6:38 p.m.
The tsunami warning was triggered.
"From Tsunami dangerous waves are possible in the next three hours along some coasts of the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Tuvalu and Kosrae," the said Center warning at the Pacific tsunami .
