Everything is in place for the national final at American college football while Alabama's Crimson Tide crosses with the Bulldogs at the University of Georgia.
The match is currently underway and is 20-20 at
the time of the overtime.
They opened the mark early in the second
quarter. The running back Sony Michel escaped by just skirting the field
on 26 yards for a first try during an offensive sequence that eventually placed
his team in position to make a placement that Rodrigo Blankenship has managed
on a distance of 41 yards. He added three more points later.
A few seconds before half-time, Mecole Hardman
scored the first touchdown of the game.
Coming back from the intermission, Alabama made
a change in quarterback and therefore brought Tua Tagovailoa into the field to
replace Jalen Hurts. This decision paid off as they finally scored when
Henry Ruggs got a major to make 13-7.
Unfortunately for these, Georgia quickly
replied with another hit.
Alabama then added an investment via Andy
Pappanastos shortly before the fourth quarter and they continued on their way
to go up to tie in the final minutes of the encounter on a Calvin Ridley
touchdown. Pappanastos could have sealed the outcome of the game to avoid
just overtime but missed his 36-yard placement.
Both teams are competing for the national
championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Alabama is in its third consecutive final after
losing last year to the Clemson Tigers in the final match. He had the
chance to savor his revenge this year after defeating the defending champions
24-6 at the Sugar Bowl.
The Crimson Tide will also be looking for his
fifth national title in nine seasons under coach Nick Saban.
To achieve this, Alabama will have to contain
the duo of Bulldogs. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel combined their efforts for
326 yards and a total of five touchdowns in the semifinal against Oklahoma. Georgia
had the best 54-48 in the second overtime period to get his ticket to the
final.
Chubb and Michel will try to destabilize
Alabama's defense, which has only allowed a measly total of 188 yards for the
Tigers. The latter had to be content with two placements throughout the
meeting.
Trump hung
Donald Trump
received a lukewarm reception from supporters in a conservative southern state
traditionally acquired from the Republican president.
Donald Trump
attended the match in front of tens of thousands of fans who both cheered and
booed the US president when he entered the field to hear the national anthem.
Some had
been stuck for more than an hour in the cold and rain, while the area around
the stadium was locked for the arrival of the presidential convoy.
Donald Trump
watched the performance of the national anthem alongside the players, humming
in part "The Star Spangled Banner".
