Eight people were killed and dozens more injured in a series of explosions that occurred during a cricket match in Jalalabad city, Afghanistan, Friday night, local officials said.
The explosions occurred after the evening prayer in a football stadium that hosted the cricket match at the beginning of Ramadan.
In a statement, the UN aid mission said four explosions had occurred, two inside the stadium and two outside.
The explosions outside the stadium were intended to hit spectators fleeing the sports arena after the first two explosions.
Eight spectators were killed and 43 injured, said a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, bordering Pakistan.
This province has witnessed more violence in recent weeks. An attack, claimed by the Islamic State group, had killed 15 people last week.
