Due to floods in Libya, approximately 5,300 people have tragically lost their lives with thousands still missing. The continuous deluge has led to the emergence of countless bodies in the city of Derna, according to Libya's Eastern government minister, Hisham Shakout.

A Libyan minister has reported that due to the destructive floods in the city of Derna, it is possible that around 5,300 individuals have lost their lives. Hisham Shakout, a minister in Libya's Eastern government, has stated that bodies are continuously emerging, as if the sea is relentlessly disgorging them.

In response to this situation, appeals for further assistance are being made. Arrangements are being made for coffins for those who have perished in the floods, as well as for the bodies.

The tsunami-like floodwaters wreaked havoc in Derna on Sunday, when a dam broke due to the effects of Cyclone Daniels.
