France Secures Eight Medals, Including One Gold, on a Successful Saturday at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games
Saturday proved to be a triumphant day for French athletes at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as they claimed a total of eight medals. Dorian Foulon delivered France’s third gold medal, successfully defending his Olympic title. The Portal brothers both made it to the podium in swimming. After three days of competition, France sits 8th in the overall medal standings, meeting their pre-set goal.
Gatien Le Rousseau also secured a third-place finish in the individual pursuit, again in track cycling, category C. This marks his first Paralympic medal, clocking in at 4'24"096, just ahead of fellow Frenchman Kevin Le Cunff (4'28"380).
Meanwhile, Antoine Praud claimed France’s first athletics medal in the 1500m T46 event.
In table tennis (XD7), Flora Vautier and Florian Merrien earned a bronze medal for their efforts.
Brothers Kylian and Alex Portal managed to secure bronze and silver, respectively, finishing behind world record holder Ihar Boki in the 400-meter freestyle S13.
