Ishaq Dar will leave for an official visit to Washington on Friday after completing his trip to New York.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Dar is currently in New York to attend a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
During his Washington visit, he will meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for talks on regional and international issues.
Pakistan Playing Role in Iran-US Talks
Pakistan is currently acting as a formal mediator between Iran and the United States during recent peace negotiations.
The Foreign Office said the visit will focus on strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the US.
Focus on Regional Peace
The statement added that Dar will discuss Pakistan’s efforts to support peace and stability in the region through diplomacy and dialogue.
Officials are expected to talk about key global and regional developments, including Middle East tensions and ongoing negotiations involving Iran and the US.
