Eagles Band Singer Randy Meisner died at 77 of age

Sad news struck the world of rock music today as we mourn the passing of Randy Meisner, a founding member of the legendary band Eagles. At the age of 77, this American bassist and singer left us, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that has touched the hearts of millions.

Back in 1971, Meisner played a crucial role in the formation of Eagles, lending his remarkable vocals and co-writing skills to their hit song "Take It To The Limit." His lush harmonies also graced the mega-hits "Hotel California" and "The Best of My Love," contributing to the band's incredible success.

The news of his passing was confirmed by the official Eagles website, which acknowledged Meisner's integral and instrumental role in their early triumphs. The cause of his death was complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Eagles, one of the most successful bands in history, has sold over 150 million albums worldwide and rightfully earned a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Meisner's melodious bass lines and falsetto voice left an indelible mark on the band's first five albums: "Eagles," "Desperado," "On The Border," "One of These Nights," and of course, the iconic "Hotel California."

Describing his vocal arrangements as amazing, the band paid tribute to him, citing his unforgettable ballad, "Take It to the Limit."

Fellow rock musician Randy Bachman from Bachman-Turner Overdrive expressed his condolences, hailing Meisner as an incredible singer, songwriter, and bassist. He wished peace to Meisner's friends and family.

Another bassist, Jim Messina, who played with Buffalo Springfield, shared his gratitude for the time spent together in the 60s and again in the late 80s. He cherished the memories of their encounters.

Born in a family of farmers in Nebraska in 1946, Meisner's musical journey led him to California, where he performed with Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band

Together, they redefined the sound of pop-rock on the West Coast, blending country nuances with a relaxed vibe that dominated US radio waves in the early 1970s before venturing into a more hard rock direction later on.

As we say farewell to this musical icon, let us remember the profound impact he had on the world of rock and the eternal melodies he gifted to us through his time with Eagles. Randy Meisner's legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of fans worldwide. May he rest in peace.
